The Shed
The Shed pursues the vision of Magdalen Road Church by helping men to nurture one another towards Christian maturity, equip them for fruitful lives of service, and reach men in Oxford who are unchurched.
With fewer men attending churches these days than women, there are a number of challenges including the remaining men starting to leave, Christian women seeking non-Christian partners, and boys growing up within the church with little Christian male influence during their spiritual development. These problems not only affect our churches, but can also have major impacts on our homes and families, and in turn may have serious consequences for future generations.
The Shed is a group for men from 18 years upwards aimed at enabling men within the church to achieve their full Christian potential, and at reaching men in Oxford who are unchurched. The group has several meetings each term which include informal discussions on 'mens issues', dad's and lad's social events, and evangelistic events that are men friendly.
